  • My name is Ceta Gabriel, and I am the founder of Yoga by SimpliCita.

  • I am a mother of two amazing people, a partner, a writer, and creative soul who is kind and supportive.

  • My close friends and family would describe me as a "Black Gypsy" , for my love of music, dance, and anything artsy, crafty, natural, eccentric or soulful.

  • Born and raised in Montréal’s Historical Black community Little Burgundy, I’m proudly an 80’s baby.

  • Growing up wasn’t always easy, and although I experienced many rough times, I still managed to grow in love, and give love.

  • My community and childhood experiences played a huge role in making me who I am today. We are resilient, and yet, still joyful as a people.

  • I had no idea what I wanted to do when I grew up and I thought  “I” was the problem. As it turns out, it was just the beginning of a series of events that would continue to unfold as I was being taught to accept that it is okay to be diversified.

  • I recently collaborated on a project with Horizons Highschool called Not All Heroes Wear Capes. It started as a Black History Month initiative to allow the youth to have their voices heard and celebrate local community members who embody their perspective of excellence.

  • Another project which I am extremely proud to have been a part of was working with an existing group of single moms later coined as Sista Sista. This was held at Tyndale St- Georges Community Center, and it was an honor to be a part of empowering these intuitive, talented, and multi-skilled ladies, who together, we raised money for personal development and transferable skills workshops.
